25.  Favourite series 4 moment

*fangirl cries*  NOW THIS REALLY IS IMPOSSIBLE since series 4 is my favourite series and practically every episode I loved.  It was a beautiful, epic, magical and emotional series so to choose a favourite moment is not going to happen at all.  So yet again I will cheat and mention some of my very favourite moments from series 4.  Firstly the sword in the stone was so heartachingly beautiful, the setting and the emotion literally had me jumping up and down on my sofa I was so excited and in tears that this moment had finally arrived and I honestly think it was one of the most beautifully filmed scenes ever.  I loved how Arthur was unsure but that Merlin was there to encourage him, to guide him but the only tiny snag is the part where Merlin used magic and I was like ‘Noooooo!” I wanted Arthur to do it by himself but I have grown to accept this change even though it still bugs me but otherwise the scene is beautiful and couldn’t get more magical being shown on Christmas Eve as well! :)  I also loved Merlins sacrifice for Arthur in ‘The Darkest Hour’ it shocked me when he suddenly ran out in front of the Dorocha and it is a very powerful moment.  The birth of Aithusa was one of the most beautiful scenes from Merlin ever.  The joy and the hope that this little white dragon promised for Merlin was so incredibly moving and Merlins moment of happiness was so pure and so deserved that it is one of my favourite scenes from the entire series of Merlin :)  Morgana and Arthurs reunion was incredible, full of emotion and regret and very powerful.  It was superbly played and a moment which I had wanted to see for such a long time.  I loved how it wasn’t simple, that for a moment Morgana seemed to remember the time before, when she and Arthur had been close and also how Arthur still showed respect for her by calling her ‘My Lady’ but still too much had changed and they would resume being enemies.  Another standout moment was Gaius and Arthurs talk at the end of ‘The Secret Sharer’ where Gaius literally tells Arthur someone is protecting him and Camelot and that one day he will know how much they have done for him (at this point I am a sobbing mess) and honestly, for such a simple scene, it is incredibly beautiful because Gaius tries his hardest for Merlin, to try and redeem Dragoons mistake, make Arthur understand he didn’t mean to kill his father and I wish we had more scenes with Gaius and Arthur because it was so emotional.  THE EMBRACE must get an honourable mention as after all WE WAITED 4 YEARS!!  And I will shut my eys and put my hands on my ears and go ‘lalalalalalalala!’ to anyone who says that it wasn’t really Merlin because I believe it was and that the possession had not taken effect yet ‘laalalalalalalalalalalaala!’ :D  I loved Lancelots sacrifice, it was so moving and emotional and showed him at his best because he was willing to offer his life for the future of Camelot and for love and it showed what a  brave and loyal Knight he truly was, and it makes the events of ‘Lancelot Du Lac’ so much sadder for his memory is tarnished, and I found it a very hard episode to watch seeing Lancelot as a shade of himself, being manipulated by Morgana and the darkness of that episode was quite incredible.  I loved the moment where Merlin bought him back for just a moment before he died, it was a very poignant moment.  Wow, if you are still reading I am so happy because I go on and on lol!!  Just want to mention the moment when Arthur emerges after mourning his father all night and it is a new day and everytime EVERY TIME I see this I cry and it is so sad but so beautiful at the same time.  Merlins dreams of being free are shattered yet it is a new day, but not the new day he had hoped for.  But still he is there for Arthur and Arthur acknowledges him as a friend and NDFVBSHJDFGVHJSDFGVHJSDGVFHJS IT IS BEAUTIFUL.  Oh and I loved when Arthur was so honest with Merlin in ‘A Servant of Two Masters’ about him being brave and loyal *dies* that was EPIC oh oh and when Arthur is forgiven by the druid spirit boy, so beautiful and Merlin being healed by the Villea and their knowledge of his destiny and *fangirl is taken away for the sanity of anyone still reading this*
